This Yang / Yin session is great to do during your moon days. It is a bit more dynamic than usual menstruation practices and helps to relieve the feeling of heaviness and diminishes pain and stagnation. It starts with adapted Sun Salutations, where we don’t let the head go below the hips. During these poses you will open up your hips and arch and bend the spine. These movements will enhance the release of blood flow from your body. Then you’ll wind down with the Yin part which helps to balance out emotions and releases deeper tension in the hips, back and legs. The whole sequence will help to release cramps and detoxify your body. It will leave you feel energised and relaxed at the same time. Women who have their period will benefit from this session and also women who have their first menstruation after delivery. Men can enjoy this practice too to experience different Sun Salutations and juicy Yin poses at the end. You can do the whole session or cut the session in half, doing only Yang or only Yin. You can also decide to do more Sun Salutations or hold the Yin poses for a longer period of time. Different options are given for each pose so you can adapt them to your needs. Props: blanket, pillow, bolster, blocks.
