This ONLINE training invites you to play and explore, tune in to feel what flows from a place of curiosity and your own unique perspective. Embrace and EMBODY Yin yoga philosophy, Meridian theory, anatomy and asana and learn to adapt poses within physical and emotional boundaries. Discover your qualities, pitfalls and challenges in practicing and teaching, in order to grow and get to know yourself better.
BE OPEN TO CHANGE
During this ONLINE 200 hour Yin Yoga Anatomy & Meridian Teacher Training YOU will be the focus of attention. Whether you want to deepen and personalize your own practice, promote your personal growth, or have the ambition to become a yoga teacher or coach, you are in the right place.
You’ll learn 35 Yin asanas and their healing effects on the body (physical, mental, emotional and energetic). You’ll learn how to practice yoga poses functionally and safely, by focusing on feeling and experiencing the asana ( what works for you ), rather than simply performing the asana as it ‘should be’. You will learn how Yin Yoga poses can stimulate meridians and balance Chi flow, by using Elemental and Meridian Theory as a foundation to support and enhance your and your future student’s overall wellbeing.
Embrace a holistic approach to your practice and teachings by fully integrating knowledge of anatomy, yoga philosophy and Eastern health theories. Study the anatomical and physiological facets of our body (bones, muscles, fascia, joints, organ functions etc.) AND the basic principles of Eastern philosophies on health and life (e.g. Taoism, Meridian theory, Chi, 5 elements theory, Yoga Sutras) and learn to incorporate this knowledge functionally in your in person and/or online classes. This will help initiate profound physical, emotional, and mental shifts in yourself and your students. At the end of this training you’ll be able to intelligently sequence and teach safe, personalised, creative and inspiring yoga classes.
Learn how to effectively use props and give personal adjustments to your students with your knowledge of the human body (skeletal variation) and holistic view on movement. You will be able to inspire students to explore their bodies. Empower them to stimulate the chi flow in the meridians of their bodies and open and strengthen themselves in a beneficial way without unnecessary pain or injuries. Result: a free body, mind and soul, able to achieve anything from a stable connection with your essence.
The Eastern philosophies on health and life, help you to understand your constitution and how to restore physical, emotional and mental imbalance through yoga poses, meditation, pranayama and lifestyle. You’ll experience what it is like to truly live from a place of connection with yourself and with everything and everyone around you. José will help you to deepen your own practice from a playful mindset. You will explore your unique body with an open mind, making your personal Yin practice beneficial, fun and profound. As you walk your path of exploration, you will gather tools on how to pass on your wisdom and make your yoga classes relevant on an energetic healing level too.
Pranayama (breath work) is essential in the path of yoga. It supports the healing effects of the Yin practice on a physical, as well as an energetic and emotional level. During the training you will learn how to guide yourself and others in the pranayama and orbiting energies practices and adjust the intensity to a level that is most beneficial at that moment. Mastering these techniques helps you to gradually open yourself up, breaking through patterns and releasing blockages. You will learn to feel the more subtle energies in and around your body.
Through meditation and mindfulness you learn to be comfortably and calmly present in the moment, to observe without action or reaction from a nonjudgmental state of mind. Mastering the art of being present and developing a peaceful mind, enables you to really connect with yourself and with your students, creating a safe and calm energy in your classes allowing students to feel safe to open up to whatever arises.
Anything is possible, physically as well as mentally and emotionally. We are made to expand, grow and shine. So everything that comes across your path wants to show you something. Everything that you neglect, contains a lesson that will return again and again (these are patterns) until the lesson is learned and integrated. In this so-called (emotional) darkness lies your growth, it is the opening for your light. We humans are able to reprogram our thoughts and behaviors, which enables you to achieve anything in this life. Yes, you too! As long as you do it in a way and pace that feels right for you. As long as you keep acknowledging your uniqueness along the way. Get to know your inner being, your essence, your core and feel free for life.

Yoga doesn’t stop at the physical aspect of the practice, so we don’t either! Go beyond skeletal variations and asanas and dive into the core of your ‘Being’. Everything is energy, and this means that everything is connected, so José’s starting point is looking at the body in a holistic way and through the lens of Yoga Philosophy & Meridian theory.
In this ONLINE training we rely on our gut feelings, breaking away from the usual interferences of the mind and playing with our body as a whole, listening to what the heart tells us.
José helps you in the pre-recorded videos and live zoom sessions to become aware of what is happening on different levels (thought patterns, emotional reactions, physical sensations etc.) and how you can use the tools of yoga to get to your unique core.
ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY & EASTERN PHILOSOPHIES
The foundation of this ONLINE training is the holistic approach in which Anatomy, Yoga Philosophy and Eastern Health theories (5 elements, chi and meridians) of the human body are combined. This will empower you to teach beneficial, safe and personalized Yin yoga classes.
You will learn about: bones, movements, joints, muscles, fascia, organ functions, meridian pathways, chi, Taoism, the most essential Yoga Sutras, Meridian Theory and 5 Elements Theory in a practical and playful way, using the power of repetition and the sensitivity of all of our senses.
This will help you to understand your own constitution and how to restore physical, emotional and mental imbalance with yoga poses, meditation, pranayama and lifestyle. You will also learn to analyze the individual possibilities, impossibilities and needs of your students, in order to offer personalized adjustments and suggestions, and teach functionally (focusing on feeling and experiencing the pose), rather than aesthetically (focusing on how the pose ‘should be’ performed).
YOGA ALLIANCE CERTIFICATION
The official examination concerns both written and practical assignments:
These examination moments are not something to stress too much about. These moments are created to serve you, to see where you stand, where more attention is needed, or further deepening is necessary.
The final practical exam will take place online over a period of days in December 2023. After successfully completing all perquisites of this Yin Yoga Anatomy & Meridians Teacher Training you will have sufficient training hours for a YA certification and you can register until 31st of December 2023 with Yoga Alliance as a RYT 200 teacher (internationally recognized Yoga Teacher Certificate).
To bring your practice and that of your future students on a heart-mind level, you will be introduced to the essential basic concepts and application of both the Yoga Sutras and Taoism/Meridian Theory.
PREPARATION TO BE AN EMPOWERING YOGA TEACHER
Learn and study the language of the body, so that you get a feeling of how to best assist people. Respond to individuals and situations, while not losing sight of other students. Learn verbal and non-verbal instructional techniques and how to smoothly integrate visual demonstrations, touching and personal adjustments into your classes for beginners and multi-level. You will also learn skills to translate these tools to teach empowering, safe and personalised online classes.
ONLINE LEARNING, EXAMS & COMMUNICATION
Your online learning space is divided between two platforms.
You must make every effort to attend the adjustment & teaching practice sessions live on zoom in order to fulfill the requirements for this training. But if this is not an option for you (because of time differences) you can follow the recordings of the adjustment practice sessions. Nevertheless we firmly advise that you make every effort to attend these session in real-time.
Attendance of the online whole group sessions and study group sessions is also mandatory (live attendance – watching the recordings will not be counted) in order to qualify for this training.
There are two theoretical multiple choice exams that can be completed online.
The practical examination days are pre-set and you are expected to be present (live on zoom) . Of course, in case of an unexpected personal situation we can discuss alternative ways for you to successfully fulfill the teacher training anyway.
José will also set up a WhatsApp group so you can stay in touch with the group and get answers to quick questions outside of the scheduled online training days.
PERSONAL GUIDANCE & FEEDBACK
Expect personal guidance during the Zooms sessions of the ONLINE training to help you deepen your practice, your inner journey, and develop your personal teaching style. José encourages you to experiment and reflect. This can provoke different reactions at different levels, because growing is, and remains to be, challenging. José is here to guide and advise you in this personal process.
This ONLINE Training is open to anyone who would like to deepen their own Yin practice and/or give personalized in person and/or online Yin yoga classes in the future. Because of the great understanding of the human body (anatomy and skeletal variations) that you gain, this ONLINE training is also very relevant for people who want to exercise injury-free beyond the scope of yoga, because you understand how to move your body in a way that is beneficial for you as a unique individual.
Because of the emphasis on the energetic aspect of yoga practice and how you can use this for your inner journey, the training is also very enriching for (future) yoga coaches.

The ONLINE Yin Yoga Anatomy & Meridian Teacher Training (200 hours) is suitable for anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of the anatomical and energetic aspects of yoga, and improve their own practice. Because of the great understanding of the human body (anatomy and skeletal variations) that you gain, this ONLINE training is also very relevant for people who want to exercise injury-free beyond the scope of yoga.
This, in combination with the energetic aspect of yoga practice, makes the ONLINE training a transformational experience. Whether you subsequently become an authentic teacher or yoga coach for others, or remain a loving teacher to yourself, is entirely up to you.
If your goal is not to become a teacher, you won’t have to teach yourself but you do attend the classes taught by the fellow students. This way you gain even more insight into your own practice and will help you to create a personal beneficial sequence for yourself. In this case you will receive at the end of the training a certificate of attendance.
Some experience with the Yin yoga practice is required. You don’t have to be an advanced practitioner, but you certainly have to have a good basis.
José believes that having a minimum level of experience – at least 2 months of experience in practicing Yin yoga – allows you to experiment with and integrate the teachings of this ONLINE training better. Apart from that, she believes that you should always first experience the Yin yoga path yourself, before you can communicate this in your classes.
If you have any questions, please contact José.
Spreading the ONLINE training over 10-11 months is a very conscious choice. José finds it important that trainees have time to practice, study and integrate. Time to play! In this way you learn to reflect, build your self-confidence and embody what you have learned.
Moreover, a lot of things can come up during the training. It takes time to digest this and actually break through old beliefs and patterns. The power lies in repetition, pulling yourself out of that comfort zone over and over again, so that you can grow on a personal level.
Apart from the inner journey, this setup also gives room for gaining practical experience.
For the successful completion of the ONLINE Yin Yoga Anatomy & Meridian Teacher Training (200 hours) the following requirements apply:
If, due to circumstances, all graduation requirements cannot be met, José will determine which aspects of the training have to be done again in order for you to obtain your certificate.
If the anatomical and philosophical aspects of yoga are not sufficiently applied in the practical class, we can arrange another practical teaching exam via zoom, this however will incur extra cost.
When you have successfully completed this ONLINE Yin Yoga Anatomy & Meridian Teacher Training, you will receive a 200 hour certificate certified by Yoga Alliance. You can then register until 31st of December 2023 with Yoga Alliance as a RYT 200 teacher (internationally recognised Yoga Teacher Certificate).
If your goal is not to become a teacher, you won’t have to teach yourself but you do attend the classes taught by the fellow students. This way you gain even more insight into your own practice and will help you to create a personal beneficial sequence for yourself. In this case you will receive at the end of the training a certificate of attendance.
Of course this is entirely up to you and varies per person. After all, everyone is unique
The assignments on the e-learning platform are designed to support the material covered in the online 50 and 30 hour teacher trainings and to help you integrate it into your own practice and the way you teach. You can make these assignments as often as you like, remember repetition is the key to learning in a relaxed way.
Practicing with your fellow students on and/or offline is very valuable, because you can learn from each other and they are able to give targeted feedback (which is not the case when practicing with non-teachers).
On average you can assume:
Yes!
Many of my trainees start teaching in small studios, gyms or in private with friends and family during the training. As a result, they make a lot of flying hours and can confidently increase their classes after obtaining their certificate.
Remember learning and growing never stops. Fortunately, there are infinite interesting directions within yoga and many inspiring yoga teachers. José hopes you continue to explore and discover your uniqueness!
No.
The content of this ONLINE training is so extensive and deepening that it is an excellent basis to start your career as a yoga teacher. You do not need to have already done another basic teacher training to follow this ONLINE Yin Yoga Anatomy & Meridians Teacher Training.
The language of the online 50 and 30 hour teacher trainings and materials (powerpoint, manuals and suggested books and dvd’s) is English.
The zoom sessions are as well in English, but as José speaks Dutch and Spanish she can – if needed – answer specific questions in those languages.
What characterises this training is the open-minded and exploratory approach of the teachings and yourself. José will support you in becoming a self-confident yogi and a curious teacher, who shares yoga from a playful mindset and in a personal, safe and inspiring way with depth and lightheartedness.
With this approach you will increase your awareness and deeply connect with what you feel and experience when performing a pose. Letting go of how a pose should look like or is supposed to be, and stop comparing with others.
What will distinguish you from other yoga teachers is:
